Nottingham Trent University – World Kitchen
BRIEF: This challenging brief from NTU was to transform a vast open space used for functions and conferences into a venue to support NTU’s street food offering.
After two rounds of re-design and value engineering, Constellations designed, detailed, manufactured and installed the entire project within around 8 working weeks from receipt of purchase order – on programme and on budget.
Drawing from the proportions and original features of the listed building, with its theatrical glass roof and gothic proportions, Constellations took the space from somewhat drab and impractical to somewhere functional, attractive and popular among students. We gave this impressive space a real sense of place.
The project team at NTU were thrilled with the end result and the speed at which it was delivered. The space is now versatile enough for day-to-day use by students or supporting events/parties with a simple rearranging of the flexible, loose furniture.
